A discovery flight with Jaybird Aviation is your first real step into aviation. In a safe supportive environment, you will learn how to pre-trip the airplane, get familiar with the cockpit and airport environment, and experience the thrill of real hands-on flight training. In the air, you will have the chance to take the controls under the supervision of our certified flight instructor, giving you a true first taste of life as a pilot. If you choose to continue your training, your flight time can be logged toward your future certificate.

What to Expect
Your discovery flight experience is divided into three parts, totaling approximately 90 minutes
Before the Flight
30 minutes

Meet your certified flight instructor

Brief on basic aircraft systems and controls

Walk around the aircraft and learn preflight inspection

In the Air

You'll take the controls after takeoff
